This Week’s Reflection!

Kia Ora, Reader!

As we all know; its Friday — and I know its your favourite weekday 😆 ! (Personally I prefer Wednesdays) And since this week is almost ending, I think it’s appropriate for me to reflect on my working for each subject this week !!

_________

Starting with Reading this week; we watched this animated film based on the Gallipoli World War on YouTube, titled; “Beyond The Lines. We had to re-write this story in one of the characters shown perspectives, descriptively.

The film followed two children as they read letters from their grandpa, written during his time in war. Reading the letters, the children’s imagination transports to the front lines of the war, seeing the world as their  grandfather once did. The character I chose to write their perspective, was the grandpa.

  • This film really had me at the edge of my seat! Which I think is very awesome, you should definitely check it out 👍 .

Moving on, for Writing; we’re still looking at our descriptive Ice Writing. Basically, we did an experiment on Ice using five of our senses — Touch, feel, hear, smell and taste. Then we had to write it in a document, descriptively.

I re-wrote mine because I got feedback on the previous one, gaining more ideas as an indication to restart. However, I’m upset. Me personally, I’m not very happy with how my writing turned out — Here’s the link to the writing(!): Ice writing Please give me idea(s) to improve the writing!

Converting Metric Units | Passy's World of Mathematics

Our focus for Maths, is converting measurements — speaking of, we did pre / post tests too. Anyways, our Math work is based on the textbooks we’re given, we’re looking through pages 120 through 124, Unit 6 Topic 1 — Conversion of metric measures.

I’m seriously doing great at maths for someone who isn’t the brightest at that subject 😁 !

For Inquiry, we did our substitute teachers work.

Our substitute, came up with something called a “Passion Project”.  — We look up literally any topic; could be animals, objects, food, countries – you name it! Finding a topic, you do research about this topic — find facts about this topic not many people know of. (We write facts on a document shared by our substitute, we make a copy of it first!)

When finished writing about facts and things about your topic, look for a suitable / appropriate music genre that could match your topic! It doesn’t need to match if you don’t want it to. Then lastly — look for images related to your topic and change the colour theme to match your topic to top it off!

You can look at my passion project as an idea of what I’m implying to. Let me know if you’d like to know more about passion projects!

For my passion project, I choose to show the one I’ve done about the famous (AKA; my favourite) restaurant; KFC. KFC Passion Project!

Lastly, when finished everything, for our spare space / extra learning, we’re doing a DLO about the famous guy my school is named after — Sir Edmund Hillary, who climbed Mount Everest with Tenzing Norgay — getting the honour of being on the $5 note. Heres my DLO on Sir Edmund — although I’m not sure if I’m finished all my work 😅.

Thank you for reading ! I’m sure that’s everything we’ve done this week, I really enjoyed it — Hope you enjoyed it too! I don’t have any questions to ask.

Have a great day ! ♡ God bless.
